I built a monster slayer ranger/ arch fey pact of the blade warlock for a curse of strahd game. Dm allowed the Moonbow invocation from the UA, so with 2 rounds of set up for slayers eye and hunter mark or hex I could pump out 1d8+6 for the bow 2d6 for the slayers eye and hex or mark, and 4d8 if I burn a second level spell slot

I would also have accepted halfling... But that may work better for skull kid. Something about Bladesinger on the silent protagonist seems fitting, or a few levels wildfire for an annoying fairy. If youre goin modern, maybe battlesmith. Kensai may also be doable if ya multi.

heres some cool stuff i did for my bayonetta warlock, Medeia Willow, i did fiend. she was also fallen aasimar. i was allowed to use other spells from other classes that fit her aesthetic: Also nephirae is my madama butterfly Umbran Portal (Misty Step): warp to anywhere you can see within 30 feet. Witch Walk (Spider Climb): For 1 hour, one willing creature you touch gains the ability to move up, down, and across vertical surfaces and upside down along ceilings, while leaving its hands free. The target also gains a climbing speed equal to its walking speed. Pact of the Chain: cast Find Familiar as ritual. Pseudodragon, Gomorrah. Witch Heart: a blessing from Madama Nephirae at Level 5 magical necklace clock that allows the user to use a reaction to cast Witch Time. Slowing time before the enemy can hit you, you dodge perfectly. This can be selected after the damage has been determined. This will nullify all damage the first time used in a day. The second time, it will only protect half damage. Any time used after that, you have to roll Dexterity or Constitution to risk taking half damage on a successful save or taking double damage on a failed save. At level 10 you get 2 witch times, 2 half damages, etc, level 15, 3, and level 20, you get 4 each. Vespidae Polistes: (Gaseous Form) You turn into a hundred small red wasps, taking everything you are carrying and wearing. The floor affected opens up demonic bloodied hands, and the cries of Inferno are heard as they grasp and claw at each target. Each creature in that area must make a Constitution saving throw. A target takes 8d6 necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. Instantaneous. Madama (Bigby’s Hand, and custom build): Ar-ged-co (Hold Monster): Choose a creature that you can see within range, and summon Labolas, a demonic sabertooth cat with jaws large enough to hold the creature/target, to try to grasp and hold the target. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be wrapped in Labolas’s teeth for the 1 minute duration. This spell has no effect on undead; he will spit them out. At the end of each of its turns, the target can make another Wisdom saving throw. On a success, the spell ends on the target. Spell Slot. At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, you can target one additional creature for each slot level above 5th. Gain advantage on perception and investigation. +2 to both. Infernal Communicator: a gift from Nephirae, a ring that contracts 3 small minions temporarily called Little Devils. They only have 25 health each, and on your turn, if you attack one target, they will deal an extra 3d6 damage. (1d6 each.) can only be used in combat. Summoning them takes up your first turn, but allows them to attack a chosen target. Can only be used once a day, and the contract ends when combat is over or they are defeated. Nucleus of Talos: A bracelet from Nephirae that allows Gomorrah and Medeia to swap each other’s turns interchangeably. If Medeia rolls poorly, but Gomorrah doesn’t, they can swap positions on the initiative. Also gives Medeia (if alone) a plus 5 to initiative, or a plus 2 to both. Umbran Armor Upgrade: raises armor class to 15, plus Dexterity modifier. Conqueror's Gauntlets: gloves that give a +1 to dexterity, gain advantage on acrobatics, and do not allow any summons to lose control. If you lose concentration while a summon is active, they will no longer be under your control but will not attack you or friendly allies. They will attack enemies independently from you. This means elementals, mostly, as my other demons do not have any risks applied yet. Lumen Sage Amulet: necklace. get a +1 to spell attack rolls. Allows the user to cast Sanctuary once per short rest. You ward a creature within range against attack. Until the spell ends, any creature who targets the warded creature with an attack or a harmful spell must first make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature must choose a new target or lose the attack or spell. This spell doesn't protect the warded creature from area effects, such as the explosion of a fireball. If the warded creature makes an attack, casts a spell that affects an enemy, or deals damage to another creature, this spell ends. Nephirae’s Cloak: cloak that grants flight for 10 minutes. +2 on spell attack rolls and spell save DC against Celestials. Long black hair that morphs into large black wings that resemble a bird, but is obviously hair. Allows double jumps. Dance Boots: boots that allow unlimited Witch Walk when the full moon is out. Can cast Slow for 1 minute, a version of Witch Time: You alter time around up to six creatures of your choice in a 40-foot cube within range.

I'd drop the STR and go more DEX and WIS myself. I would be going for playing a vampire hunter more than being a Belmont. It's best to make your own mark. I think this is really solid and there is some intrinsic flexibility to make you vampire hunter your own.

The dex saving throw is brilliant. If the character had passed the nature check, I would have heavily implied *why* the dex throw would happen. And then let them have advantage on the roll if they chose to... alter their position for it, armed with that knowledge.

I personally would do a warlock with pact of the blade and armor themed spells. Good example is the armor of shadows eldritch invocation, casting mage armor for free is too accurate. I would also multiclass into war magic wizard so that you can focus on defensive spells while still being tactical. Abjuration wizard was also tempting but war wizard just fit more. The reason I would focus so much on defense is because in the show it's mentioned that Ezra's ability to summon armor is what makes her unique from any other requip wizard. Just felt right.

At 14th level, I would have taken Eagle for the ridiculous fly speed that ends at the end of your turn, which for a grappler is actually an Epic Suplex maneuver. When you have an opponent grappled, you fly straight up into the air as far as you can, hold your opponent below you, and fall at the end of your turn. Bonus points if you end your turn above a different enemy. The grappled target takes fall damage, plus damage from you landing on them, you take half damage because rage, and if you landed on another enemy, they take damage from being fallen upon. Bonus points of you can work Tavern Brawler in there somewhere for the improvised weapon proficiency, because if you're grappling a creature, you're holding an improvised weapon. And if you get Athlete in there somewhere, you can get up from prone using only 5 feet of movement. 10 feet of the DM rules that grappling cost twice the movement speed. In that case, you just don't fly as high so you can stand up at the end of the round.

Have a problem with you deciding that being a member of the White Lotus is his background. Iroh USED to be a soldier, a prince, a folk hero, even a wanderer. Iroh currently IS a member of the White Lotus, an order of monks dedicated to peace. The White Lotus isn't a background, it's his current Monk subclass; it forms a central part of his motivations and Identity. I don't know how this would be represented in game, but I figure re-flavouring another peace focused order. I believe there are backgrounds for all the former life backgrounds Iroh has let go in becoming more at peace with the world and his place in it. If this decision was made purely for crunch please note that.
